Blog the First

Welcome to Bookworm's Banter.

I'll be trying to update this as often as possible with book reviews. Expect also thoughts on books I am currently reading for pleasure (my job requires a lot of reading that while occasionally pleasurable, isn't all that interesting for a general blog). I'll also be commenting on connections I see between the things I read and the music, science, and art that make up some of my other areas of interest. Hopefully, if you're reading this far, you'll find some inspiration here for your own free time!

While I don't intend to take requests directly for the blog, please feel free to use the comments section to recommend books. If I get intrigued you may see them here!

The first book review that will appear within the next week will be Ravens in Winter by Bernd Heinrich. Heinrich is a behavioral scientist who became fascinated with some then inexplicable activities observed in the ravens near his cabin. The book follows the creative and critical process of scientific inquiry, from observation through hypothesis formation, data collection and critique, answers, and more questions. So far it's an absolute treat of a book, and I'm looking forward to reviewing it!

Happy reading, and I hope you enjoy the blog!
